Quasar Gold Corp engaged Metallogeny, Inc. of Fairbanks, Alaska to explore certain areas of the Shirley Bar property in July 2023.  Seventy trenches were excavated and 20 to 30 samples were taken from each trench.  The locations of the trenches were carefully documented so the gold could be identified by location and depth. The samples were reduced to concentrates using a small exploration plant, and then meticulously panned to identify the concentrations of gold.

The head geologist, Jeff Keener, showed up with a glimmer in his eye and said, “My team and I have been working hard to find the gold for you, and we have some very good news”.  They had hit an area where we had no reason to expect economic gold.  Jeff said this is some of the best gold, if not the best gold ever found on the Shirley Bar.  Jeff went on to say it may be the best gold he has seen in Alaska.

The exploration results indicate reserves of no less than 1700 ounces in the area immediately surrounding the two “hot spots” with concentrations north of $50 per cubic yard and over $100 per cubic yard gold in the hottest spots.  The vial of gold shown contains the gold that was removed from the sampled trenches.

Metallogeny excavated more trenches over 1,000 feet from the known hot spots and found additional hot spots. Quasar is planning exploration in the coming year to determine if these hot spots are connected with contiguous economic gold.

Good things are shaping up as a result of these findings.  Word is spreading in the central Alaska mining community that the Shirley Bar is potentially hot again.  We plan to use these findings to assemble a mining team and as evidence to entice private funding.
